B2B lead generation

From “I sell X” to a list of Indian companies who might buy it

B2B lead generation is four jobs that get talked about as one: finding companies, working out which are worth your time, reaching them, and dealing with what comes back. Most tools do one of the four well. This page explains all four honestly, including what each costs and where a human is still required.

What it actually involves

The phrase covers a pipeline, not a product. Split it into its four stages and it becomes obvious which part of your process is actually broken — which is usually not the part people go shopping for.

  • Find. Produce a list of real companies matching a description you can state — an industry, a city, a size.
  • Qualify. Decide which of them are worth a message, before you spend the message.
  • Reach. Get in front of a human at that company, on a channel they answer.
  • Reply. Sort what comes back, fast enough that interest does not go cold.

A list you cannot reach is a spreadsheet. A channel with nobody to send to is a bill. The stages only pay off together, which is the argument for running them in one place rather than stitching a database to a sender.

1. Finding companies

You describe the businesses you want the way you would say it out loud — an industry and a city — and get back real businesses with their listed address, phone number and website. It is the same data behind the search below, which works without an account:

Try:

What you can filter on

Location, business type, rating and price level. Rating and price level matter more than they sound: for most Indian SMB categories they are the quickest proxy for whether a business is actually operating and has customers, which no amount of firmographic data tells you.

What you will not get

Named decision-makers and their direct email addresses. Those come from contact databases, which are compiled from sources of wildly varying legality and accuracy. Rechlio does not sell one and does not guess. Importing a company costs ₹0.20.

2. Qualifying them

A list of 500 businesses is not 500 prospects. Qualification is the step that decides where your sending budget goes, and it is the step most outbound processes skip because doing it by hand is unbearable.

What the AI actually does

You describe your company and what you sell once. Each lead is then scored against that description, segmented, and given a suggested opening line written for that specific business rather than a mail merge. One run costs ₹2.00 per lead.

Read the score as a sort order, not a verdict

It is a judgement made from a business listing, not from inside knowledge of that company’s budget. It is very good at putting the fifty most plausible businesses at the top of a list of five hundred. It cannot tell you that the owner’s brother-in-law already sells them what you sell. Treat the generated opening line as a first draft — the pitch is yours, and editing it is expected.

3. Reaching them

Four channels, one campaign: WhatsApp, email, SMS and AI voice calls. The choice matters more in India than the sequencing does, because reachability varies enormously by channel and by category.

WhatsApp costs no platform fee

Rechlio is a Meta Tech Provider. You connect your own WhatsApp Business account, Meta bills you directly for conversations, and Rechlio adds ₹0 per message on top. Most WhatsApp tools in this market charge a per-message or per-conversation markup; this one does not. How WhatsApp outreach works covers the rules that come with it — templates, opt-in and the 24-hour window.

Messages go out in business hours by default

The default send window is Monday to Friday, 9:30am–6:30pm IST. A campaign launched at midnight starts sending the next working morning. That is deliberate: for B2B, arrival time changes reply rate more than subject lines do.

4. Handling replies

The stage that gets designed last and decides whether any of it worked. Replies from every channel land in one inbox, and WhatsApp conversations carry the things a team actually needs: a status, a label, an assignee, and internal notes that the customer never sees.

Incoming replies are classified automatically — interested, not now, not interested — at ₹0.10 each, so the ones worth a human get to a human first. The classification sorts your queue; it does not answer for you.

What 500 leads costs

A worked example: finding 500 businesses (₹100), AI-scoring all of them (₹1,000) and messaging the best 200 on WhatsApp (₹0 to Rechlio, plus whatever Meta charges you for those conversations) comes to ₹1,100 on Rechlio. The same 200 by email through ZeptoMail would add ₹70. Prices are per action and are the current published rates — see pricing.

What this does not do

The useful version of this section is the one that costs us a signup.

  • It does not sell you a contact database, and does not produce personal email addresses that a business has not published.
  • It does not guarantee that a business is still trading. A listing is evidence, not proof.
  • It is not an enterprise CRM. There is lead management, meeting scheduling and a shared inbox — there is no forecasting suite or territory model.
  • It does not make cold outreach legal by itself. Consent, content and hours are your responsibility, and the acceptable use policy is specific about it.
  • The AI does not send anything on its own. Consequential actions produce a proposal a human approves.

Questions

Do I get email addresses and phone numbers?
You get what the business has published: its name, address, and — where the business listed them — a phone number and website. Rechlio does not sell a contact database and does not guess at personal email addresses, so a list will have gaps. WhatsApp and phone coverage is generally far better than email coverage for Indian SMBs, which is why the product leans on those two channels.
Can I try it before creating an account?
Yes. The search box on this page and on the homepage runs against the same data the product uses. You get one search without an account, which is enough to see whether the businesses you sell to are actually findable.
How is this different from buying a lead list?
A purchased list is a snapshot of somebody else’s research, sold to everyone who asks. This builds a list against your own criteria at the moment you need it, and the reaching happens in the same place — so there is no export step where a stale CSV starts ageing.
What does it cost to start?
Nothing. There is a free plan with no card required, and everything above is charged per use from a wallet you top up. See pricing for the plans.
