Your buyers are businesses that ship things, and most of them are listed

Logistics is one of the better fits for this kind of outbound, for a boring reason: the businesses that need freight, warehousing or last-mile delivery are overwhelmingly businesses that also want customers to find them, so they maintain a listing. What follows is the honest version of that, including where it stops.

Who you sell to

  • Manufacturers and processors — outbound freight, raw material inbound.
  • Wholesalers and distributors — constant movement, often several carriers.
  • Retailers and e-commerce sellers — last-mile, returns, warehousing.
  • Importers and exporters — customs clearance, port drayage.
  • Other logistics firms — subcontracting is normal in this industry, and a competitor is often a customer.

Why this sector suits it

Two properties make logistics unusually well suited to outbound in India. The first is that your buyers are categories rather than named accounts — “wholesalers in Bhiwandi” is a real target list, in a way that “procurement at three OEMs” is not.

The second is that the decision-maker is usually reachable. In an SME that ships, the person who chooses a carrier is often the owner or the operations lead, and the number on the listing reaches them or someone one step away.

Who is not findable

  • Large enterprise shippers with a formal vendor onboarding process. Getting on that list is not an outbound problem.
  • Anything about current carriers, rates or contract renewal dates — the three facts that would actually tell you when to call.
  • Businesses that trade entirely through agents and maintain no public presence.
  • Named logistics or procurement managers. No listing contains them.

A phone-first industry

Logistics runs on phone calls and WhatsApp, and almost never on email. That shapes what works: a WhatsApp opener, a call as follow-up, and email as the channel for the rate sheet after somebody has said yes.

WhatsApp carries no Rechlio platform fee — you connect your own WhatsApp Business account and Meta bills you directly. There are rules attached, and they are not optional: an approved template for the first message, and a 24-hour window after they reply.

Calling hours are regulated

This sector answers the phone at all hours, which makes it the sector most likely to be over-called. Do-not-disturb hours and a daily cap are configurable on the voice agent, and TRAI’s rules on commercial calling hours bind you rather than the tool.

When this will not work for you

  • You are chasing enterprise contracts through formal vendor onboarding. Volume outreach is the wrong instrument.
  • Your growth comes from freight exchanges and broker networks rather than direct shipper relationships.
  • You need to know who a business currently ships with before you contact them. Nothing here can tell you.
  • Your customers are outside India.

Questions

Can I find businesses that ship a particular volume?
No. Nothing in a business listing says how much a company ships or who currently carries it. What you can do is target categories that ship by their nature — manufacturers, wholesalers, e-commerce sellers, exporters — in the cities you serve, and let the reply rate tell you which categories were the right guess.
Our sales team already works the phone. What does this add?
The list, and the follow-up. Dialling is what your team is good at; building a list of two hundred wholesalers in a city and remembering who was called on Tuesday is what a tool is for. AI voice calls exist for the first pass, but a person still closes.
Does the AI voice agent speak Hindi?
Hindi, English and Hinglish — the last being the one that actually matches how a lot of this business is done on the phone. How calls work, including the do-not-disturb hours, which matter in a sector where people answer at all hours and should not have to.
